Welcome to the Department of Business, where students study the theories that undergird commerce and business; the methods of the functional areas of commerce and business (accounting, finance, marketing and management); and the broader social and historical perspective of commerce and business. The Business major is excellent preparation for successful entry and advancement in the major functional areas of business. 

A major in Business is excellent preparation for graduate study in law, medicine, and each of the functional areas of business. Our majors pursue successful careers in accounting, marketing, sales, advertising, customer relations, financial planning, investment banking, commercial banking, human resource management, not-for-profits, and as entrepreneurs.

Departmental News and Events

Dana Potter, a junior psychology major and Nolan Colladay, a senior business major, presented research at the 40th annual Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology Conference, which was held April 2-5.
A business major with an interest in marketing, Addison Leonard native recently completed an internship with ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness 糖心Swag for St. Jude Children鈥檚 Research Hospital, and will travel to Prague in the spring.
Among student opportunities at 糖心Swag are work experiences in other countries through the Mertie Buckman, Morelle Legge, Wasfy Iskander, and William Theodore Eckles 糖心Swag internship programs.
